Capron Rescue Saving Lives Since 1957

CAPRON RESCUE offers the best pre-hospital care services for the communities we service. Our members are a great mix of EMS personnel, some coming from other EMS agencies. We have a vast variety of professionals from EMTs to critical care paramedics. This is what makes Capron Rescue a great service. All of our personnel bring different levels of expert knowledge to the table. We invest in our professionals so we can provide the best pre-hospital services for the northern end of Boone County.
Since the leadership change in 2017, all services have increased and improved. Capron Rescue assessed the need in our communities for a second ambulance and an ALS quick response vehicle, putting those services on the road at the beginning of 2018. This brought an influx of jobs for EMTs and Paramedics. This was all done without any change to the tax payer. Also in 2017 we were asked to service 861 times.
In 2018 we were asked for service 931 times. This is not only 911 medical calls for our district, but also helping out our brothers and sisters in neighboring communities under the MABAs Division agreements. We are always evolving to be ahead of the curve for the communities we provide care for.
Capron Rescue Squad District has been serving the entire north end of Boone County since 1957. We currently offer 911 Paramedic Services around the clock. Capron Rescue has 2 ambulances in service at one time, which supports the call volume we currently have. We also offer a quick response vehicle stocked to the ALS level, for additional personnel needed for the communities we service. We have a 3rd Ambulance fully stocked to the ALS level, which is our reserve unit out of Station #3.
Paramedic services consists of the highest level of Pre-Hospital Care. IV/IO therapy, manual defibrillation, cardioversion, pacing, advanced airway techniques, and multiple aggressive medications are just a few examples of what we do, to provide top quality care for our communities we serve.
Most of our training is provided by Mercyhealth Pre-Hospital and Emergency Services Center-Rockford, who comes to our location frequently for EMS continuing education.
Capron Rescue also is a unique service because we participate in the MD-1 response program. MD-1 has an medical doctor, who is a trained EMS physician on call 24-7 and willing to respond upon EMS request. Most of these physicians were paramedics at one time. Our relationship with the MD-1 response program is important for patient care. This brings a physician to your home if needed.

OUR MISSION

To change the lives of the people we serve through a reliable, effective, affordable and best clinical practice that exceeds our customers’ expectations.

VISION STATEMENT

Capron Rescue Squad District will be recognized as leaders in our profession and as positive community role models. We will provide exemplary services and the best patient care to our communities by investing in public education, training and teamwork. We will be accountable to each other, to our patients and to our communities. We will also strive to encourage one another’s professional growth as we guide the department into the future.

“LEGO” Radio Communications Drill

April 2018 Training: Capron Rescues EMTs and Paramedics got to play with some LEGOs this last month at our radio communication drill. Incident Commanders took the instructions and had to relate vital building instructions to the crews as they attempted to build these LEGO sets. As crews were building these LEGO set, they had to over come radio communications problems such as operating all on the same channel, and loud outside noises.

Resource Fair 2/15/18 (Poplar Grove Elementary School)

Capron Rescue was invited to participate in the Resource Fair at Poplar Grove Elementary in Poplar Grove. MD1 also made an appearance with Dr. Sean Marquis from Mercyhealth.
